Update on Chase Utley’s appeal hearing

New York Jets shortstop Ruben Tejada was left with a broken leg after Los Angeles Dodgers Chase Utley‘s controversial slide during the second game of the National League division series. Utley was suspended for two games , but now has a chance to appeal it.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the date of the appeal was originally supposed to be on Oct. 19 but was postponed by Utley’s union. Since the Dodger’s were eliminated, the date is still pending and Utley’s chance to appeal will probably occur during spring training.

Although Utley was re-signed by the Dodgers, they still reportedly entered negotiations to bring back second baseman Howie Kendrick as stated by the Los Angeles Times.
