Michael Misiewicz, a United States Navy commander, admitted to a bribery scandal in which he leaked confidential military information in exchange for money, which he used for luxury items such as prostitutes and vacations. He is the eighth associated in the “Fat Leonard” scandal and only one other defendant has yet to plead guilty.
In an article reported by the Los Angeles Times, the high-ranking serviceman cost the Navy $95,000 and will likely have to pay restitution.
Though the case is still open and Misiewicz’s exact repercussions have yet to be finalized, he may face up to 20 years in jail for his actions.
“Fat Leonard” Glenn Francis cost the Navy an estimated $20 million over the course of his time contracting Navy servicemen.
