1 of 3 inmates arrested after escaping Santa Ana jail

According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, one of the three escaped inmates from Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana was arrested today. Bac Duong, 43, has been arrested after he told a citizen he wanted to turn himself into the police.

“Approximately 25 minutes ago, Bac Duong contacted a civilian on the streets of Santa Ana and stated he wanted to turn himself in,” Sheriff Sandra Hutchens said.

The citizen honored his wish and called 911 at 11:21 a.m. The other two inmates who also escaped the jail are still at large.

There have been new findings regarding these men and a stolen white GMC van. The van was for sale on Craigslist, but the men never returned the van after taking it on a test drive in South Los Angeles on Saturday. Authorities believe all three of the escaped inmates have been living out of this van.

There is no new information regarding the other two men who are still at large, Hossein Nayeri, 37, and and Jonathan Tieu, 20.
