Robert Downey Jr. walked out of an interview this week while promoting the upcoming film “Avengers: Age of Ultron” after the interviewer began throwing curveball questions about his past.
“Are we promoting a movie?” Downey asked pointedly as the line of questioning took a probing and unexpected turn. The interviewer, Channel 4’s Krishnan Guru-Murphy, started asking about Downey’s past struggles with addition, his relationship with his father, and his time in jail.
Normally, unique questions would be welcomed during a long press junket where actors are answering the same questions over and over again. But this interview was very awkward. Downey became clearly agitated as Guru-Murphy asked the personal questions, eventually to the point of getting up and leaving.
This just goes to show that you shouldn’t mess with Iron Man. The interviewer’s lucky that Downey didn’t call the Hulk in.
