The San Francisco Chronicle compiled a list of the top-20 highest paid public university presidents, as tracked by the Chronicle of Higher Education.
While the story didn’t dig too deep, the figures speak for themselves. The base salary for the highest paid public university president? $1 million for Texas A&M’s Michael K. Young.
Now, as the articles notes, this is comparatively lower than university football coaches such as Alabama’s Nick Saban who made $7.16 million in 2014. But as it also notes, it’s comparatively higher than the President of the United States who makes $400,000 annually.
