Former Democrat congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. is set to be released from prison and transferred to a halfway house in Washington D.C. Thursday, March 26.

According to former representative Patrick Kennedy,  Jackson was serving a 30-month sentence at a federal prison camp in Montgomery, Alabama.

In February 2013, Jackson and his wife pleaded guilty to federal charges relating to sending about 750,000 in campaign funds for personal use.

The court allowed Jackson and his wife to serve her sentence separately because they have young children.
