Hawthorne Mayor Brown preps for re-election

Current mayor Chris Brown announced that he will be running for the re-election for the city of Hawthorne in November.

Brown was sworn into office on December 5, 2013 at age of 32, Brown in the youngest and First African American to hold the mayoral position in the city’s 91 year history.

According to the Los Angeles Sentinel website Brown stated,”I’m proud to say that I was one of the first U.S. mayors to propose mandating that all uniformed police officers in Hawthorne wear cameras while on duty.”

If re-elected Brown will be the first mayor in the city to serve a four-year term.
