California, a state where many out of state students want to move to for school. Recently, there has been changes with the UC and California State University systems, one of them being tuition. The University Of California system has been considering raising tuition for out-of-state students by 5,000 dollars.
Currently out-of-state students pay roughly about $35,100 not including room and board. If the state approves the increase on tuition for out-of-state students, they will be paying $40k in just tuition itself, that is more than what some private colleges cost.
Its kind of crazy to think that for a lot of students, out-of-state and out of the country, they are willing to pay for a degree that has a UC involved like UC Berkley or UCLA. Regardless of how much it cost, the UC branch will probably never lose non-resident interest.
The increase on tuition can potentially triple for non-resident students while in-state students pay about $15k per school year for tuition. In a way the rise of tuition is getting out of hand that is why many students choose to not continue to a higher education institution after they graduate high school, its expensive.
